Our Vision

Our vision is to create a health delivery system with minimal incidence of negligence to alleviate the pain of the suffering masses.

How We're making a difference

The focus of AMMV is on negligence on the part of medical professionals such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, biomedical scientists, radiologists, etc. in the discharge of their duties, leading to injuries or death of patients who attend their facilities

AMMV undertakes public education and sensitization on the need to report incidences of alleged medical malpractice through Print and Electronic Media (radio, television) and other social media platforms.

We encourage victims to open up to tell us about their experiences as well as that of their relatives in accessing healthcare and the incidence of suspected medical malpractices leading to injuries or deaths.

How may we help you?

Access to justice for Medical Malpractice Victims.

Fair compensation for the injurious effects of medical negligence and error.

Success Stories

“My wife visited a hospital in the Ashanti Region to give birth. Prior to the delivery day, she was informed after a scan that she would be listed for a caesarean section since my baby’s weight was about 4kg. Surprisingly, on the delivery day, the nurses insisted that my wife pushes our baby out; only to find out that the theatre was not functional. What prevented them from referring my wife to a different facility? My wife suffered post-partum hemorrhage (bleeding after birth) and bled for about an hour; and nothing was done to stop the bleeding. She died after losing a lot of blood, and my child later passed on after a couple of hours due to fetal stress and oxygen deprivation. Losing my wife and child in less than 4 hours because one hospital decided to do as they please – I just couldn’t make this slide. A friend

informed me of an organization fighting against medical malpractice and I quickly reached out to them. The case is in the competent hands of the courts and justice is being served. Thank you AMMV for being the voice of the voiceless.”

“I visited a hospital in the Bono Region with a complaint of a small bump on my eyelid. I had both eyes fully functioning. I was advised to undergo surgery for the bump to be removed. Surgery happened but the surgeon made a delicate error. Another surgery had to be performed to correct the mistake yet another mistake happened again. And again. And again. I have had to undergo 18 surgeries in a bid to correct the effect of the initial error and that has cost me an eye. My eyeball has been removed so I wear dark glasses to cover them. I heard about AMMV on radio and I spoke with them. I’m an unemployed single mother with four (4) kids so I was skeptical to call since I had no means nor money to pay for their services. I was shocked when I was told their services were free. Now, thankfully, my case is in court and justice is being sought. Thank you AMMV!”

“My 6-year-old active child had a growth on the base of her neck. I took her to the hospital in my community in the Greater Accra Region for the doctor to have a look at it. He assured me that a minor surgery will take care of the growth so I consented and paid for the procedure. Why has my child suddenly become paralyzed from the neck down after the surgery? She has become a

burden to me and my family. I saw an ad on Facebook about AMMV and I spoke to them. Quickly they came to my aid, took the case to court, and now my family and I have been duly and fairly compensated for the mistake of the doctor and hospital. Even though my daughter won’t walk again, I’m at peace knowing that the hospital would be cautious in the provision of healthcare to other patients. Thank you so much AMMV”
